1. Who we are
Zenobius (the “app”) is an offline reference compendium of mythological deities and modern heroes, published as an iOS application. This Privacy Policy explains what little data the app collects, how it is used, and the rights you have over it.

2. Data we collect
The app is designed around the principle of data minimization. We collect only the following:
- Device identifier (IDFV) — Apple's per-vendor identifier, used to associate your device with the OneSignal push subscription. We do not use IDFA / Advertising Identifier and we do not request App Tracking Transparency consent.
- Push subscription token — issued by Apple and forwarded to OneSignal so we can deliver push notifications you have opted in to.
- App diagnostics (anonymous) — bundle identifier and app version are sent to our update endpoint (https://zenobius.site/api/sync) so the server can tell your build whether an update is required.
- Standard server logs — when your device contacts the update endpoint, our CDN (Cloudflare) records the request IP and timestamp for security and abuse prevention.
We do not collect: name, email, location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or any in-app reading behaviour.
3. How we use it
- To verify that the version of Zenobius installed on your device is current.
- To deliver optional push notifications about new pantheons, lineage entries and major updates.
- To maintain the security and integrity of our servers (rate limiting, abuse detection).
We never sell, rent, or trade your data, and we never use it for advertising or profiling.
4. Third-party services
- OneSignal — push notification delivery. Receives your IDFV and Apple push token. OneSignal Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection for
zenobius.site. Standard request logs only. Cloudflare Privacy Policy. - Apple — App Store distribution, push notification delivery, optional device analytics if you have opted in at the iOS level. Apple Privacy Policy.
5. Your choices
- Push notifications — disable any time in Settings → Notifications → Zenobius. Disabling them stops all delivery.
- Uninstall — removing the app deletes all on-device data; the OneSignal subscription is automatically deactivated within 30 days of inactivity.
- Right to be forgotten — email support@zenobius.site with your device's OneSignal subscription ID (Settings → About → Diagnostics) and we will purge it within 7 days.
6. WebView in the update flow
When the server signals a mandatory update, Zenobius opens an in-app WebView pointed at zenobius.site. The WebView uses the system WKWebView with default settings; cookies set inside it are scoped to that origin and are cleared when the app is uninstalled. We do not inject tracking scripts into the WebView.
7. Children's privacy
Zenobius is rated 9+ in the App Store and contains no advertising or social features. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
8. Changes
If we materially change this Policy we will post a notice in-app and bump the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after such a change constitutes acceptance.
